Over 39 million people have now watched Rob Scheer’s story of his journey from foster care to foster parent. Rob struggled to find a place where he felt wanted and loved as a child. Now Rob wants to make sure that no child has to suffer the way that he did.
Rob’s story in foster care is not unique; there are currently over 500,000 children in foster care in the United States alone. In Montana, there are nearly 4,000 children in the system. On a larger scale, in the United States an new child with enter foster care every 2 minutes.
Many foster children will end up in shelters and group homes because of a lack of placement options. It is not unheard of for a child to have up to 16 placements before finding permanency.

You can make a difference in a foster child’s life, become a foster parent. Anyone can be a foster parent. Foster parents can be young or old, single or in a relationship, married or unmarried, rent or own, etc. All you need is the space and the ability to open your heart to a child in need.
